I was born in Barquisimeto, a city of approximately two million people and the fourth largest city in Venezuela. I was raised in Central Florida from a young age. I moved to Chicago to attend college at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I graduated in 2008 with a double major (psychology and sociology) with Latin honors and highest departmental distinction from both departments. It was at UIC when I discovered my love and interest for the field of social psychology.

After spending some time away from school working as a research analyst in downtown Chicago, I started my Ph.D. at the University of Florida. I graduated with my masters of science degree in psychology in the spring of 2012. I subsequently transferred to Penn State where I have been since the fall of 2012.

When I'm not running psychological experiments and analyzing data, I like to remain active. I love hiking, swimming, lifting weights, biking, and running outdoors. I also love traveling, domestically and internationally.

I am also a big animal lover. I have a four year old French bulldog named Chloe.
